Wd hd media player hdmi problem

Furthermore, I could still navigate the WD menu and my external drive after this without problem. This is when I checked all my external drives for problems, checked that it was not the source file etc. I have since tried several different external drives on the Media Player, using files I know previously worked, using either of the USB ports, and using different file types. In both scenarios I can return back to the navigation menu without a problem using the Back button and navigate the source drive.

I checked up on all connections. I switched HDMI cables but still the same. It started up then crashed then went back again then crashed. There are times that when I watched videos, it crashed then went back again then crashed again like blinking lights. The firmware is latest. Player worked well. Bought another player to a friend. Connected it to her Sony Bravia 2 TV.

This unit worked well with her TV, connected only with the hdmi cable. Checked this player with my own Sony Bravia 3. It still worked well connected only with the hdmi cable.

But I think this thing may need to go back to WD. Cable box and Blue Ray work on any cable in any port. Tried to use the reset button on the WD. I have problem and just send my HD TV for an exchange just received the new one and will see if it still does it. I think is a bug, I have the same problem, I received an email from support saying that the only HDMI cable that works is version 1. Also 1. I have the same problem. Same issues here. Then, after about a week of non-use, the HDMI out doesnt work.

I ran through the same problem sovling steps as Stormseeker with no luck. Apparently they say the hole in the back has been made shorter than it shouldve been. Here is the thread i am following. So I know the connection is fine. The box just doesnt want to output once I try to change it in the settings.

But the cutting of 2 mm or so off the HDMI cable shoulder worked! HDMI output comes up fine now. I was very dubious when i read that cutting works. Sounded dodgy, but after ringing WDTV support and getting no help i figured it was worth a try. It shows the cut plug and the left over bit.
